Yo, piracy is not cool and directly affects those we care about, The Strokes. HOWEVER, let's not shame OP for trying to listen to the greatest band of all time. There could be many factors at play that are not allowing OP to drop some sweet stacks for a couple of records, and that's cool. That's why we have the internet. You have to look at it this way; if OP becomes a huge fan of the band via piracy, so be it, but in-turn OP could potentially catch the band play live next time they're coming though his town and/or buy some merch, introduce his friends to the band, etc, which affects bands in a more significant/positive way. You see, piracy is inescapable, we're all guilty of it but it's a good vehicle for exposure.

The music is for the people, it doesn't matter how they hear it, just as long as they do. This is not the best solution but it's what we can do right now. EDIT: This ideology doesn't apply in absolutely every situation and with every band. Huge bands like The Strokes? Small bands like Cerebral Ballzy? At the end of the day, it all comes down to you.
