Click on link above to access. If you find a title you like, then grab it as these offers can expire quickly. There are Amazon Best Sellers Amazon also lists the 100 best selling ebooks in many of the genres available there. In addition, they also list the best sellers (I assume most downloaded) that are free. Some of the genres will have the full 100 and some will not, but this will get you to some more of the free Kindle ebook listings at Amazon. Supposedly, these are updated hourly On the left hand side is again a listing of various genres and by clicking on those you can get to the free listings for that genre.

Jungle Search is a search engine designed for searching at Amazon. The link above is for the USA search, but they also have a search engine for France, Germany, United Kingdom and Canada (links at top of page). I assume that if you are not in any of these countries, then Amazon will not be available to you and only the listings for your country will be available. Jungle search may be used to find free Kindle ebooks at Amazon by entering a 0 in both of the price range boxes on the Kindle Search tab. If you enter the 0's and select the bottom option to include public domain works, you will be taken to a page which indicates that there are over 50,000 free Kindle ebooks at Amazon. Unfortunately, I am unable to get the search results to go past page 400, which means all that may be accessed on any given search is maximum 4800 free Kindle ebook listings. This is true for any of the searches where the results are greater than 4800. I believe that there are over 50,000 free Kindle ebooks at Amazon and by using various different searches, you can get to view more of the total free Kindle ebook listings at Amazon.

I have thrown up a few different USA Amazon searches that will help to get started. For each one, on the left there is a 'Departments' listing, which is a category listing of the books. By clicking on those you will be able to get to more of the free listings.

Also, for each of these and each of the Department listings, there are 'Sort' options in the upper right of the page. By using the various sort options, you will be able to see more of the free listings.

Books on the Knob has links to non-public domain, non-”sample”, free Kindle eBooks from Amazon, grouped by publisher type. Selections are updated daily. Some categories may not have books. Clicking on one of these categories Traditional Publishers, Small Publishers, Backlist / Sidelist / Indie, Christian Publishers, Erotica / LGBT / Hot Romance shows the books available. I tried one and it worked fine. I was sent to Amazon's kindle page for the ebook and it was free.

My Kindle was given to me by a family member in Hong Kong and therefore is linked to Amazon in the USA. I am a pensioner, a voracious reader and but for the free books would by now have faced financial ruin. However, I also read French, German, Dutch and Spanish and would like to be able to download free books in these languages. Can anybody tell me of sites that might offer this facility - without changing the identity of my Kindle?

Many thanks for any advice. Because I am not fluent in those languages, I can not fully advise on available sites as I do not know if the sites are only offering legal works.

However, I can give you some links to free ebooks within Amazon USA. (I have set for sort low to high - if the link does not come out that way, you can reset) Since this is through Amazon, we can assume all are legal. French German Spanish I found the Dutch page, but there were no free offerings. There are some free ones for Italian and Portuguese, but I did not list as they were not listed by you.

Another known clean site, Books Should Be Free, has both audio and Kindle (among others) works in French, German, Spanish and Dutch (several others also) Gutenberg has French and other languages including the 3 others you requested Probably some of the sites listed in the article also have foreign language titles. You would have to check them. Also, a search for free kindle books french (or one of the others) will reveal some sites. But, you would have to be careful on the results. If you do not have Web of Trust or something similar, then I suggest you check some of the other articles here, especially on Web Browsers and addons. Hopefully these known legitimate offerings I have listed will keep you busy for quite some time. June 30, 2013, 18 new sites added, 1 dead link removed.

Found your site when some of my favorites disappeared due to the new rules at Amazon (I deeply miss ereaderiq). There is a free books newsletter that is not loaded with ads (no ads at all) like some of the other sites that are trying to stay alive. There are also reviews of Indie Books and 'The Reader's Blog' which just covers general stuff for readers who enjoy reading Indie books. Jill Thank you very much for this info.
